UltraTuff began at Happy Valley Farms, a fourth-generation sheep farm in Southern Alberta, Canada.
Before there was a saddle pad, there was the wool. For generations, Happy Valley Farms has been built around the care, patience, and knowledge it takes to raise exceptional sheep and produce exceptional fiber. That standard became the foundation for UltraTuff.
-ULTRATUFF WAS BORN-
Like many Canadian wool producers, the quality of wool being produced was high, but the markets were low.
This never wavered the passion behind HVF perfecting their flock.
The idea was simple: when you have wool of this quality, the product made from it will be great.
After talking to a few like minded wool producers in the industry, Happy Valley Farms felt it only natural that these fibres go back into the world of ranching.
-ULTRATUFF WAS BORN-
UltraTuff was created to honor that standard. Every pad begins with a focus on genetics, fiber quality, responsible wool production. As demand has grown, UltraTuff has continued to protect that same standard by sourcing select wool from small North American farms when needed, while keeping quality at the centre of every decision.
The result is a saddle pad built for the horse.
UltraTuff is made for those who refuse to compromise on fit, durability, and quality.
Whether you trot big circles, compete on the weekends, or choose to see the world horseback, the standard remains the same.
Each pad is crafted using North American labor from start to finish, with the same care that started at the farm. It is not a product built around shortcuts. It is a product built around material quality, craftsmanship, and the belief that what goes between your horse and your saddle matters.
UltraTuff is rooted in heritage, but built for today’s rider. It carries forward four generations of wool knowledge and turns that experience into a pad made to perform, last, and feel right from the first ride to the thousandth.
Comfort without compromise, for your horse and for you.
